SKU Compass: Inventory Management Software Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 8/29/26

SKU Compass (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you access or use our SKU Compass Inventory Management Software (“Software”). By using the Software, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

SKU Compass is an inventory forecasting and management platform that integrates with major eCommerce and logistics providers, including:

  • Amazon (including Amazon Seller Central, FBA, and AWD)
  • Shopify
  • Walmart Marketplace (including Walmart WFS)
  • TikTok Shop (via the TikTok Shop Partner / Open API)
  • eBay (via the eBay Sell APIs)
  • WooCommerce
  • ShipStation
  • Extensiv (formerly 3PL Central)
  • and other related fulfillment, shipping, and sales platforms that merchants choose to connect.

2. Information We Collect

When you use the Software, we may collect the following types of information:

2.1. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password, company name, and other contact information you provide during registration.

2.2. Store and Platform Data

When you connect third-party integrations such as Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, TikTok Shop, eBay, WooCommerce, or ShipStation, we collect information necessary to synchronize and manage your inventory, including but not limited to:

  • Product listings and SKUs
  • Inventory quantities and stock locations
  • Orders, shipments, and returns
  • Sales, pricing, and performance data
  • Warehouse and fulfillment details

This information is accessed through secure APIs provided by these platforms.

2.3. Usage Data

We collect technical and behavioral data about how you use the Software, including IP address, browser type, pages viewed, session duration, and feature usage. This helps us monitor system performance and improve user experience.

Analytics within the Software. We use Microsoft Clarity inside the SKU Compass application to understand how the product is used and to find usability problems. Clarity records session activity — pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement — and builds aggregate heatmaps. It runs in a dedicated Clarity project separate from our marketing website, and it is not enabled on administrative pages. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not run any advertising or conversion-tracking scripts inside the application. You can opt out of Clarity at https://clarity.microsoft.com/opt-out.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

3.1. To Provide and Maintain the Software

We use your data to deliver real-time inventory analysis, forecasting, and reporting, and to ensure platform integrations (Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, TikTok Shop, eBay, WooCommerce, ShipStation, etc.) function properly.

3.2. To Communicate With You

We may contact you via email to provide account updates, service notices, onboarding instructions, or promotional materials related to SKU Compass.

3.3. To Analyze and Improve Performance

We monitor how users interact with the Software to identify usage trends, detect potential bugs, and enhance functionality.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal and store data as long as your account remains active.
If you disconnect a store or terminate your account, data related to that integration will be removed within 6 months.

Upon written request, we will delete your personal and store data within 7 days in compliance with your “right to be forgotten” under GDPR and similar privacy laws.

5. Data Protection and Security

We employ industry-standard security practices, including:

  • Encrypted storage of sensitive data
  • Limited and role-based access controls
  • Secure API authentication (OAuth 2.0)
  • Regular monitoring and backups

While we take every precaution, no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Processing and Third-Party Services

We may share your data only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Software (such as hosting, analytics, or email delivery partners). These third parties are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information.

Third-party integrations, including Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, TikTok Shop, eBay, WooCommerce, and ShipStation, are governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage users to review the policies of each platform they connect to SKU Compass. TikTok’s privacy policy is available at https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/row/privacy-policy/en.

We do not sell or lease your data to any third parties.

“sharing” for advertising purposes is addressed separately in Section 15.

7. International Data Transfers

SKU Compass operates primarily within the United States. Data may be processed or stored in other regions depending on hosting providers. We comply with applicable data protection laws and maintain safeguards for any cross-border data transfers.

8. Data Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will promptly notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

9. Children’s Data

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will delete it immediately.

10. Data Access and Portability

Merchants may request access to the data collected through the Software or ask for it to be exported or deleted. To submit such a request, contact our support team at support@skucompass.com or our privacy team at privacy@skucompass.com.

11. Data Processing Agreements

We maintain data processing agreements (DPAs) with essential partners, such as hosting and infrastructure providers, to ensure compliance with privacy and security requirements.

12. Collection and Use of Customer Order and Product Information

Our Software collects order and product data solely for inventory management purposes. This includes:

  • Product details, SKUs, and pricing
  • Order quantities, dates, and fulfillment status
  • Customer location data (where applicable for fulfillment analysis)

This data helps merchants track inventory movement, forecast future demand, and optimize stock levels.

We follow the principle of data minimization, collecting only what’s necessary for the intended functionality.

13. TikTok Shop and TikTok Platform Data

This section applies specifically to merchants who connect a TikTok Shop account to SKU Compass via the TikTok Shop Partner Center or TikTok Open API.

13.1. TikTok Data We Access

When a merchant authorizes SKU Compass to connect to their TikTok Shop account, we access only the data necessary to provide inventory forecasting and order management services, including:

  • Shop profile information (shop name, shop ID, region, seller ID)
  • Product catalog data (SKUs, product IDs, titles, descriptions, images, variants, pricing)
  • Inventory data (stock levels, warehouse locations, reserved/available quantities)
  • Order data (order IDs, order status, quantities, line items, fulfillment status, shipping addresses where required for fulfillment analysis)
  • Return and refund data (for forecasting accuracy and net-sales calculations)
  • Performance and sales metrics at the SKU level

We access this data via the official TikTok Shop Partner / Open API using secure OAuth 2.0 authentication. Access tokens are stored encrypted and used only to make authorized API calls on the merchant’s behalf.

13.2. How We Use TikTok Data

TikTok Shop data is used solely to deliver the SKU Compass inventory forecasting and management services the merchant has authorized, including:

  • Calculating sales velocity, reorder points, and days of supply at the SKU level
  • Generating multi-channel demand forecasts and purchase order recommendations
  • Tracking inventory movement, fulfillment, and returns across connected channels
  • Producing restocking reports and stockout-prevention alerts for the merchant

We do not use TikTok data for advertising, retargeting, resale, or any purpose outside the merchant’s use of the SKU Compass platform. We do not share TikTok data with third parties except (a) trusted infrastructure providers bound by data-processing agreements who process data on our behalf, or (b) as required by law.

13.3. TikTok Data Retention and Deletion

TikTok Shop data is retained while the integration is active and used for historical forecasting analysis. When a merchant disconnects their TikTok Shop integration, revokes authorization, or terminates their SKU Compass account:

  • API access tokens are immediately invalidated and deleted.
  • TikTok Shop data is removed from active systems within 30 days.
  • Residual data in encrypted backups is purged within 90 days as part of our standard backup rotation.

Merchants or end users may request immediate deletion of their TikTok Shop data by emailing privacy@skucompass.com. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 7 days of a verified request, and in any case within the timeframes required by TikTok and applicable privacy laws.

13.4. TikTok User Content and End-Customer Data

SKU Compass does not collect, store, or process TikTok user-generated content (such as videos, comments, likes, or follower lists). When customer order data from TikTok Shop is processed for fulfillment analysis, we handle it as confidential merchant data under the same standards described in Sections 5 and 12 of this policy, and in accordance with TikTok’s Developer Terms of Service.

13.5. TikTok Developer Compliance

SKU Compass complies with the TikTok Shop Partner Terms of Service, TikTok Developer Terms, and TikTok’s platform policies governing the use of their APIs. We do not attempt to reverse-engineer TikTok’s services, bypass rate limits, or use TikTok data in any manner not explicitly authorized by the connecting merchant and the TikTok platform itself.

14. Compliance With Privacy Laws

We comply with all applicable data protection regulations, including the GDPR, CCPA, and the policies of platforms such as Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, TikTok Shop, eBay, WooCommerce, and ShipStation.

15. Marketing Website Analytics & Cookies

This section applies to your visit to our marketing website at skucompass.com. When you visit the marketing website, we use third-party analytics and tracking tools to understand site usage, improve content, and measure marketing effectiveness. Analytics within the SKU Compass Software are described in Section 2.3 above.

15.1. Tools We Use

  • Google Analytics 4 (via Google Site Kit) — collects anonymous usage data including pages viewed, time on site, traffic source, device type, and approximate geographic location (city/region level). Used to understand what content visitors find valuable. Operated by Google LLC.
  • Google Tag Manager — container that loads other tags (analytics, conversion pixels) without requiring code changes. Operated by Google LLC.
  • Google Search Console — reports on how our pages appear in Google search results (impressions, clicks, ranking position). Aggregate data only, no individual user identification. Operated by Google LLC.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel — tracks visitor actions on our marketing site for Meta advertising attribution and audience-building. Includes pageviews, button clicks, and form submissions. Includes Meta Conversions API (CAPI) for server-side event tracking. Operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.
  • Microsoft Clarity — collects session recordings, heatmaps (aggregate click and scroll data), and behavior analytics. Recordings exclude sensitive form fields (passwords, credit-card inputs, etc.) by default. Used to understand site usability and identify friction points. Operated by Microsoft Corporation. Active as of 2026-05-11.

15.2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The above tools — and tags we operate ourselves through Google Tag Manager — set first-party and third-party cookies on your browser. These cookies serve analytics and marketing purposes — they do not provide functionality required to use the website. You can decline or delete cookies through your browser settings; the marketing website remains fully functional without them.

15.3. EEA / UK / Switzerland Consent

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our Google tags (Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, loaded through Site Kit) run with Google Consent Mode set to deny analytics, advertising, personalization and functionality storage by default. We do not operate a consent management platform, so that denial is our standing default and is not changed by a visitor action. Microsoft Clarity and the Meta Pixel are not consent-gated and run for all visitors, including visitors in those regions. Microsoft Clarity sets a first-party cookie, and Microsoft sets an identifier on the clarity.ms domain that it can associate across sites. To prevent these, use the browser-level options in Section 15.5.

15.4. California Residents (CCPA)

The third-party trackers above may constitute “sharing” under California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) terms. California residents may request information about, or opt out of, this data sharing by emailing privacy@skucompass.com.

15.5. How to Opt Out

  • Browser-level: use private/incognito mode or install a tracker-blocking extension (e.g. uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger).
  • Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Meta Pixel: manage ad preferences in your Facebook account settings or use the browser-level opt-outs above.
  • Microsoft Clarity: opt out via the Clarity opt-out page or use the browser-level opt-outs above.

15.6. Data Retention

Marketing-site analytics data is retained per each provider’s default retention policy: Google Analytics (default 14 months), Meta Pixel (default 180 days for events, 90 days for activity matching), Microsoft Clarity (default 30 days for sessions). These data sets are aggregated and not linked to identifiable individuals on our end.

16. eBay Marketplace Data

This section applies specifically to merchants who connect an eBay seller account to SKU Compass.

16.1. eBay Data We Access

When a merchant authorizes SKU Compass to connect to their eBay account, we access — through eBay’s Sell APIs, using secure OAuth 2.0 authentication — only the data necessary to provide inventory forecasting and order management services, including:

  • Seller account information (the connected eBay account and the eBay marketplaces on which the merchant sells)
  • Listing and inventory data (listings, SKUs and custom labels, quantities, and prices)
  • Order data (order and line-item identifiers, item quantities, order status, dates, and order amounts)
  • Returns and cancellations, where available, for forecasting accuracy

We request read-only access only — the scopes sell.fulfillment.readonly, sell.inventory.readonly and sell.account.readonly. SKU Compass does not request or hold permission to write to a merchant’s eBay account, listings, or inventory. Access tokens are stored encrypted and used only to make authorized API calls on the merchant’s behalf.

16.2. eBay Buyer Information — Not Retained

Order records returned by eBay’s APIs can include information identifying the buyer, such as a buyer username and a recipient name and shipping address. SKU Compass does not retain eBay buyer information. Those fields are discarded at the point of ingestion — before any SKU Compass database is written — and are not stored in our databases, our application logs, or our backups. We retain only the commercial fields required for inventory forecasting: order and line-item identifiers, SKUs, quantities, amounts, status, and dates.

This is deliberately narrower than the general descriptions in Sections 2.2 and 12: for eBay, no buyer or recipient information is retained at all.

16.3. Seller Account Data and eBay Marketplace Account Deletion

When a merchant connects an eBay account, we store the credentials that authorize the connection, a record linking their SKU Compass account to their eBay account, the eBay marketplaces they sell on, and their listing catalogue.

SKU Compass subscribes to eBay’s Marketplace Account Deletion / Closed Account notifications. When eBay notifies us that an eBay account has been closed or that erasure has been requested, we verify the notification, record a receipt of it, and acknowledge it to eBay. The receipt we retain records a one-way keyed hash of the eBay account identifier rather than the identifier itself, so that we can evidence having actioned a notification without retaining the data that notification asks us to erase.

  • Because we retain no eBay buyer information (Section 16.2), a notification concerning a buyer account requires no deletion on our part — we hold nothing to delete.
  • A notification concerning a connected seller account results in revocation of the stored eBay credentials and deletion of that connection’s eBay data.

Deletion of eBay data — on disconnection, on account closure, or on request — is handled as described in Section 4 (Data Retention and Deletion). Merchants may request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@skucompass.com.

16.4. How We Use eBay Data

eBay data is used solely to deliver the SKU Compass inventory forecasting and management services the merchant has authorized, including calculating sales velocity and reorder points, generating multi-channel demand forecasts and purchase-order recommendations, and tracking inventory movement across connected channels. We do not use eBay data for advertising, retargeting, or resale, and we do not share it with third parties except (a) trusted infrastructure providers bound by data-processing agreements who process data on our behalf, or (b) as required by law.

17. Changes to This Policy
